A core update focuses on the project maturity required for precertification eligibility. Previously, assessments might have been sought at very early conceptual stages. Now, to maximize the value and accuracy of the precertification audit, CertifHy has clarified specific criteria:

• Automatic Eligibility: Projects that have reached the Finalized Pre-FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) stage or later are automatically eligible for RFNBO Precertification. This ensures that the project has a sufficient level of definition and verifiable data for a meaningful and effective audit.
• Conditional Eligibility: Projects that have commenced their Pre-FEED stage may also be eligible, subject to prior confirmation and assessment of their specific project readiness.
• Ineligible Stages: Projects below the Pre-FEED stage are not eligible at this time, as they typically lack the necessary detailed information for a robust compliance assessment.

This strategic refinement aims to provide more reliable insights, prevent premature or inconclusive assessments, and ultimately, streamline the path to full certification by building a stronger, more verifiable foundation from the earliest viable point. This proactive approach helps avoid costly last-minute design changes and rework down the line.

Introducing the CertifHy Audit Statement

A new and important element being introduced is the CertifHy Audit Statement, a formal document issued at the conclusion of a stand-alone CertifHy RFNBO Audit.

This statement provides clear, written confirmation that the audit was conducted in strict accordance with CertifHy’s stringent requirements and has received CertifHy approval. This new output serves as a dedicated validation for projects undergoing an audit as a singular activity. It formalizes the outcome of these standalone assessments, offering specific assurance of compliance.

It is important to note that the Audit Statement complements, but is distinct from, the comprehensive Precertification Report. The Precertification Report, issued for full RFNBO Precertification, includes the audit findings alongside detailed advisory support and actionable recommendations for achieving full RED II compliance.
