TÜV SÜD has been recognized formally as certification body for running audits according to CertifHy™’s NGC Scheme. The NGC scheme enables certified proofs of origin for hydrogen throughout Europe for the voluntary market. TÜV SÜD has been member of the CertifHy™ consortium from the very beginning and has contributed its extensive certification expertise to the project. TÜV SÜD therefore has a deep technical understanding of the scheme.
CertifHy™ aims to facilitate and advance the production, procurement, and use of non-renewable, renewable, and low-carbon hydrogen. It has developed the CertifHy™ NGC scheme in Europe to support the growth of the hydrogen market by providing a reliable tool for consumers to track hydrogen’s origin and environmental credentials. The certificates facilitate the trade of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen throughout Europe.

TÜV SÜD has been member of the CertifHy™ consortium from the very beginning in 2014/2015. In the first phase of project, the experts advised the set-up of the non-governmental scheme. In the second phase TÜV SÜD acted as certifier for pilot-certifications of five projects and in the third phase TÜV SÜD carried out trainings of other certification bodies interested in certifying and auditing CertifHy™-projects.
